Public Consultation

In this section the National Competent Authority set up the public consultation area pursuant article 12, point 2, of Legislative Decree n. 224/2003.

Public consultation means the opportunity for any natural or legal person, institution, organization or association, of making comments or sending information on any notification submitted under Title II of the Legislative Decree n. 224/2003.

The following documents and information are subjected to public consultation:

  • the synthesis of the dossier supplying information necessary to carry out the environmental risk assessment of the deliberate release of a GMO;
  • the environmental risk assessment;
  • any new information available on risks for human health and the environment.

By filling personal data in every field of the registration area you will become part of a group of subjects qualified to have access to documents and information on every new notification submitted.

In order to facilitate the participation in the public consultation procedures a list has been prepared, it includes central and local institutional authorities, trade associations and non-governmental organizations for environmental and consumer protection.

Upon request, any natural or legal person, institution, organization or association can be included in the consultation list.

 At the start of every public consultation and inclusion of any new information related  to the same consultation, the members of the list will be advised.

Registered subjects will have the opportunity to express opinions during the public consultation period of 30 days.

The password and the e-mail address will permit the access to a confidential area and the identification of the author of the opinions.
